Previously Looked-After Children

Support and advice for previously looked-after children's parents, guardians and schools

Designated Teacher Forums 2020

The DT forum meets every half term and provides an informal networking opportunity for our designated teachers.  We run one forum in Twickenham, one in Kingston or Surbiton and a third in RBWM.

The agenda responds to delegate need but includes barriers to education faced by previously looked-after children, new guidance and legislation, funding and a chance to find out more about what the AfC virtual school can offer to support your work in school.

Spring Term 2020:

Wednesday 15th January 2020: Grimswood Training Centre, Twickenham 4-530pm

Thursday 5th February 2020: Maidenhead Town Hall 4-530pm

Wednesday 26th February 2020: King Charles Centre, Surbiton 4-530pm

Summer term 2020:

Wednesday 22 April 2020: Maidenhead Town Hall 4-530pm

Wednesday 29 April 2020: King Charles Centre, Surbiton 4-530pm

Wednesday 6 May 2020: Grimwood Training Centre, Twickenham 4-530pm

The DT Forum is an opportunity to share expertise with other members of the DT network and to have access to and support from one of our educational psychologists. This is a free event and all designated teachers from Richmond, Kingston and RBWM schools are encouraged to attend whether they currently have previously looked-after children on roll or not.  Colleagues are welcome to attend any or all sessions as the training will be delivered by different practitioners and educational psychologists at each one.

Please register your interest in attending by emailing Sam.connor@achievingforchildren.org.uk or by calling her on 0208 831 6037.
